Since its inception, the Faculty of Fine Arts Altea has opted for a methodology based on personalized assistance to the student, and fully-accessible workspaces where the different approaches to contemporary art as a teaching and research subject are integrated in a critical manner.
Its location in a privileged geographical area makes the UMH campus an ideal place to concentrate and study, with open spaces and facilities spread throughout ten buildings. In these buildings the Fine Arts degree, different master’s degrees and the various specific courses are taught; spaces where to investigate, and ultimately develop diverse art projects.
The infrastructure of the numerous and excellently equipped workshops and laboratories that make up the Campus of Altea are continuously updated and available to students as well as the teaching and research team. Their opening hours are extensive, as the schedule includes the teaching hours and the free practice times. During the latter, students have the opportunity to further develop their projects outside the class under the supervision of technicians. In addition, a free rental service for materials and tools where students can borrow necessary equipment is available from the first course on, allowing students to have greater autonomy when it comes to their jobs. All of this with the intention of providing students with optimal conditions for learning and the development of their concepts.
