FIDEX, Figures of Excess and Policy of the Body
This is a consolidated research group which includes in its foundational objectives the analysis of the generating structures of social identities, delving into the mechanisms of the body-sex-gender-sexuality as well as their tight-preset correlations to apply not only to theoretical production, but also to its artistic realization. Among its objectives is to analyse the structures that generate social identities.
Areas of research:
- (Auto)Erotic productions and representation of the teenage body in the web 2.0.
- BDSM. Sadomasochism considered as one of the Fine Arts
- Sculpture bodies and sexual practices.
- The customised body. Open and/or closed identities
- The sculptural negative and the positive: body, sex, gender and sexuality
- Mental graphics, artefacts and other forms of expression in beings outside the norm
- The materialization of the drive in artistic creation. Applied creative techniques and procedures
- Performance and activism: action and (re)action
- Dissident representations of masculinity and femininity in photography and illustration. Contaminations between feminism, cultural studies and visual studies
- Territories of desire: Approaches to a body representation as a synonym for possession and / or fetish. Pleasure games without the need for the categories of sex or gender.
